Sur les cultivars à tendance touffue ('Red Lake', Junifer', 'Laxton's', Versaillaise', etc...), il faut épointer sur un tiers de leur longueur les rameaux d'un an et ensuite chaque prolongement annuel sur également un tiers de sa longueur.
